Pasadena's Gamble House

The Gamble family of Cincinnati (of Proctor & Gamble) were among those seeking the comfort of Southern California’s warm winters and crystal clean air. They became patrons of the Greene brothers, and it was for them that the Gamble House was designed and built on one of Pasadena’s “hills” overlooking what would develop as acres of orange groves before land values soared and the foundations of today’s city were developed.
